The phrase information security is used to describe the way in which the integrity, availability and confidentiality is protected.  This means protecting information and IT systems from illegal access, editing the information, deleting the information and use of the IT system and disruption of it.  Insuring that you have acceptable information security can be very simple.  By adding spyware, anti virus programs and a firewall you can increase your information security. This will prevent your information from being stolen or corrupted as well as reducing the amount of spam you receive while preventing any sort of malicious software from attacking your hard drives.  There are lots of different types of on site security.  You can have security guards, CCTV and other means of physical security to protect your data as well as your property.  It is even possible to have keypad access to your server room to make sure no one tries to gain entry to access your rackmount server.
